YPOO RM912F: folds upright or flat

Most folding rowers stand on end against a wall. The YPOO RM912F does that, taking up just 1.29 sq ft when upright, but the V2 PRO version described in the listing also folds completely flat, so it can slide under a bed or behind a sofa. For a small flat where a rower must vanish between sessions, that second option is the reason to choose it.

Our take

Two ways to put it away

YPOO claims the upright fold uses 95% less floor than a traditional rower, about 0.12 m² in metric terms. Built-in wheels and a one-handed fold let you move it like a suitcase, according to the maker. The flat-fold height is not given, so measure under-bed clearance before relying on that option.

Set up, the machine is 161.5 cm long, 41.5 cm wide and 81 cm high, and weighs 19.7 kg.

Resistance, noise and rails

Sixteen magnetic levels are split by YPOO into 1 to 8 for everyday fitness and gentle rehabilitation, and 9 to 16 for harder work. The system is quoted at under 30 dB. A peak resistance figure in kilograms is not stated, nor is the method of changing levels.

Dual slide rails support users up to 160 kg, and the listing gives a height range of 4 ft 5 in to 6 ft 2 in. It mentions a rail length of 63.6 inches, which appears to match the overall machine length rather than the usable slide.

Apps, display and assembly

Bluetooth connects the rower to Kinomap and the YPOO FIT app, while the LCD shows distance, time, calories, stroke rate, speed, heart rate and cadence. A holder keeps a phone or tablet in view. The rower arrives 80% assembled, and YPOO says most people finish in under 10 minutes with the video guide. One AAA battery powers the monitor.

Compared with the Wenoker H300 and YOSUDA RM11

The Wenoker H300 shares the quiet rating and 16 levels but folds to a larger 0.28 m² and does not fold flat. The YOSUDA RM11 is the better rower for tall or heavy users, with a 135 cm rail and a 180 kg limit, but it is far longer and has no flat-fold option. The RM912F wins purely on how little space it takes when you are not using it.

Verdict

Buy the RM912F if storage is your biggest constraint and you are under 6 ft 2 in. Taller rowers should consider the YOSUDA RM11 or MERACH R15 manual, and if you want a rower that stays out and looks like furniture, a wooden model such as the RM11 suits better.
