The YOSUDA RM11 brings two things together that rarely share a listing: the look of a wooden rower and the convenience of electronic resistance changes from the handle. Press a button and the level moves without breaking your stroke. With up to 60 kg of resistance spread over 32 steps and a 135 cm rail rated for users up to 2.00 m tall, it is aimed at people who want fine control and a machine that does not look like gym equipment in the living room.

In its favour
- Thirty-two levels switch from buttons on the handle without breaking your stroke.
- The 135 cm rail is listed for users from 1.55 m to 2.00 m tall.
- The display is self-powered and backlit, so there are no monitor batteries to replace.
Good to know
- Variants with 10, 16 and 32 levels share the listing, so confirm the version.
- The folded storage footprint is not stated.
Our take
Frame, rail and who it fits
YOSUDA uses FSC-certified solid wood for the frame and an aluminium slide rail. The rail is 135 cm long, and the stated height range runs from 1.55 m to 2.00 m. The machine is TÜV certified to EN 20957 and rated for a user weight of up to 180 kg, the highest figure among the magnetic rowers we cover.
Assembled, it is 193.5 cm long, 54 cm wide and 72.3 cm high, and weighs 22 kg. It folds for storage and rolls on four transport wheels that YOSUDA says will not scratch floors. A folded footprint is not given.
Resistance from the handle
Magnetic resistance tops out at 60 kg according to the maker. Buttons on the handle step through 32 levels in about a second, which suits interval sessions where you want to jump between hard and easy pieces quickly. One detail to check before ordering: the listing title covers 10, 16 and 32 level variants, so make sure the one in your basket is the 32 level version.
The seat measures 32 by 26 by 4.5 cm and runs on double-layer bearings.
Display and apps
The LCD is self-powered and backlit and shows seven metrics including strokes, time, distance and calories. Over Bluetooth the RM11 works with Kinomap and Zwift, and a tablet holder is built in. YOSUDA quotes about 20 minutes for assembly, a two-year warranty on spare parts and round-the-clock customer service.
Where the alternatives make more sense
If you want an app to change resistance automatically during a class, the plug-in MERACH Q1S does that, though its level count is lower. If storage space is tight, the YPOO RM912F folds to about 0.12 m² upright and can also lie flat. The RM11 is long when in use, so it suits a room where it can stay out or fold against a wall rather than a tiny flat.
Verdict
Buy the RM11 if you are tall or heavy, value a wooden finish and want to change resistance from the handle in fine steps. Choose the MERACH Q1S if you would rather an app set the effort for you, or the YPOO RM912F if the rower must tuck away into the smallest possible space.
