BH is a Spanish fitness brand with a long catalogue of home equipment, and the Aquo R308 is one of its straightforward rowers. It offers a 5.5 kg flywheel, a magnetic brake with eight intensity settings and an aluminium frame that folds. There are no app tie-ins or handle buttons on the spec sheet. It appeals to lighter users who want a known name and simple controls more than features.

Our take

What BH lists for the R308

The Amazon listing is brief. It states a 120 kg load capacity, a 5.5 kg flywheel, a magnetic braking system and a white and black colour scheme. The spec table adds eight intensity levels, an LCD monitor powered by batteries, an aluminium frame, a folding design and a machine weight of 25 kg.

One inconsistency is worth noting: the maximum weight field shows both 110 kg and 120 kg. If you are close to either figure, confirm the rating with BH before buying.

What a 5.5 kg flywheel and eight levels mean

On a magnetic rower the flywheel mass affects how the stroke carries through the recovery. BH is one of the few makers in this group to state it. Eight levels is a short scale, so each step is a larger change in load, which is easy to learn but gives less room to fine-tune effort as you get fitter.

Because the brake is magnetic, there are no friction pads to wear out.

Space and storage

The frame folds for storage, but Amazon gives neither the working length nor the folded footprint. Rail length is also missing. That makes it hard to plan precisely for a small room, so it is worth asking the seller for dimensions before ordering. At 25 kg it is heavier than several folding rivals, which matters if you will lift it often.

How it compares

The YPOO RM912F gives far more detail: 1.29 sq ft folded, a 160 kg limit and app support. The MERACH R15 manual adds a 130 cm rail and up to 40 kg of resistance for taller rowers. The R308 is the pick only if the BH name and a deliberately basic setup matter more to you than those extras.

Verdict

Choose the Aquo R308 if you are a lighter user who wants a plain folding rower from an established brand and needs no app. Heavier or taller rowers should pick the MERACH R15 manual or YOSUDA RM11, and anyone wanting the smallest stored size should consider the YPOO RM912F.
