Pedalling while you work only helps if you can still type, read and take calls. That rules out most spin bikes, which put you too far forward and make too much noise for a home office. There are three practical routes. A bike desk such as the FitDesk combines a seat, pedals and a small work surface in one frame. A desk bike chair replaces your office chair and slides under the desk you already own. An under-desk pedal unit sits on the floor in front of any chair and is the lightest option, though it gives a gentler workout. A fourth route is a separate height-adjustable desk you wheel over a bike you already have. Compare the desk surface (if any), resistance levels, noise claims and the fit range. This guide uses only what each listing states.
